Job Description:
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will work closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA professionals to create seamless experiences. You will also participate in product planning, from discovery to deployment, and provide input throughout all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle. Your role will involve collaborating to develop robust new features and APIs, continuously improving our industry-leading products, and ensuring an exceptional, customer-centric experience. You will bring expertise in backend development, database mastery, OOP and design patterns, scalability, high-volume performance, and API development to the team.
Responsibilities:
– Collaborate in a cross-functional team to create seamless experiences
– Participate in product planning and provide input throughout all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle
– Develop and enhance features, APIs, and continuously improve industry-leading products
– Provide an exceptional, customer-centric experience through quality engineering and development
– Bring expertise in backend development, database management, OOP and design patterns, scalability, high-volume performance, and API development to the team
Requirements:
– At least 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer
– Strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, and at least one other server-side language
– Database mastery, with a particular focus on PostgreSQL
– Solid grasp of OOP and design patterns
– Experience in designing scalable systems and optimizing for high transaction volumes
– Skilled in building APIs, including input validation, JWT tokens, and ensuring security and scalability through queue-based systems
– Excel in application development and thrive in a remote-first environment
– Strong communication and collaboration skills
– Business-focused approach to software development
– Genuine care for customers and their needs
Bonus Points:
– Experience with SaaS products running 24/7 on major cloud vendors
– Familiarity with serverless architecture on AWS
– Knowledge of the FinTech industry and its unique challenges
