Position: Junior Android Engineer

Fieldwire is a leading construction field management software used by over 1,000,000+ projects worldwide. We are dedicated to improving the way construction teams work together and are seeking hardworking and passionate engineers to join our team. Our Android app is built native with a focus on maximizing performance and functionality, embracing Android at its core.
As part of our Android team, you will work closely with technical and product leadership to develop new features for the Android app and the Fieldwire platform. Our mobile apps are critical for the construction teams that use Fieldwire every day to save time and money on the jobsite.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and maintain our Android app in Kotlin
– Collaborate with design and product teams to implement high-impact features
– Stay updated on the latest developments in Android development
– Solve complex challenges, such as building the fastest mobile plan viewer and designing a 3D model viewer
– Ensure the app works seamlessly in all situations to protect our customer’s data
– Write clean, well-tested, and modular code
– Utilize strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
What You Need:
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
– Minimum of 1 year of experience working on a production Android app
– Experience with writing clean, well-tested, and modular code
– Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
Bonus Points:
– Experience with reactive programming (RxJava, coroutines)
– Experience with rendering APIs (e.g. OpenGL) or C++ code development
– Experience with advanced debugging tools for memory and performance issues
